Annual Burger Week

One of Owensboro’s most-loved traditions is approaching! Owensboro Burger Week will span NINE days this year, allowing you to purchase delicious burgers from over 40 different restaurants at only $8 apiece from March 7-15. This event is meant to be enjoyed by anyone and everyone, and you’ll taste some of the most creative burgers you can imagine during Owensboro Burger Week. From Mexican food-style burgers to barbecue-slathered burgers to breakfast burgers. Burger Week is your chance to try restaurants and burger combinations you have never tried before! As always, Visit Owensboro will be holding its annual Burger Week contest, where a distinguished panel of self-proclaimed burger experts will do a blind taste test to determine the Burger Week Champion. Your Guide to Owensboro’s 4th of July Fireworks and Festivities

Get ready to celebrate! Owensboro has exciting plans for the 4th of July, including fireworks, live music, and fun for the whole family!  Starting on July 3, Daviess County will have its annual fireworks show at Yellow Creek Park! You will find many food trucks, live music, pony rides, and a petting zoo! This year, the launch point is being moved to the parking lot near the lake, giving spectators a better view of the entire show! Bring your chairs and blankets to watch fireworks and celebrate just a little early! On July 4, Owensboro Convention Center will be hosting the 4th Fest! Coach Tim Riley Returns to Owensboro as Christian Academy of Louisville Qualifies for the 2A State TournamentWhen the Kentucky 2A State Basketball Tournament tips off at the Owensboro Sportscenter, one of the head coaches on the floor will be a familiar figure to Owensboro basketball fans.Tim Riley, now in his first season as head coach at Christian Academy of Louisville, returns to Owensboro after a decade-long run at Owensboro Catholic High School that reshaped the Aces’ program and left a lasting mark on the local basketball community.“My wife and I cherish the ten years we spent in Owensboro,” Riley said. “I miss the community and especially my days at Owensboro Catholic.”Riley coached 10 seasons at Owensboro Catholic, guiding the Aces through the most successful stretch in school history. Under his leadership, Catholic won two 3rd Region championships, including the program’s first regional title in 2019, followed by a repeat championship in 2020.
