Festivals to Look Forward to in 2024

As we make our way into the new year, we wanted to bring your attention to some of the big events our visitors have to look forward to in 2024!

Owensboro is a festival city, and we have an awesome lineup of festivals coming your way. From music to barbecue to bourbon and bluegrass, we’ve got something for everybody to celebrate.

We’re gonna kick off our list with a brand new festival happening this year! Rock the Boro is a rock music fest being held in Owensboro August 23 and 24. Hosted by LS Music Productions, this festival will feature a mix of national, regional and local musicians. More than 100 bands have applied to perform, and the event will be held at the Daviess County Lions Club Fairgrounds. For more info, head over to www.rocktheborofest.com.

We’re also bringing the Jeeps and Jamz Expo back this year for two days of Jeeps, live music and off-roading experiences. This year’s Jeeps and Jamz will be held June 7 and 8 at the Owensboro Convention Center. There’ll be a huge kickoff party, an expo with Jeep vendors, a Jeep obstacle course, Jeep convoy, a trail ride and more!

Of course we’re bringing back our famous ROMP music festival to Yellow Creek Park this year, with headliner Dierks Bentley performing alongside a variety of amazing Bluegrass artists, including Leftover Salmon, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, The Travelin’ McCourys, The Earls of Leicester and Jerry Douglas. And that’s just the initial lineup! ROMP will be held June 26-29.

Speaking of music, the team from PorchFest is teaming up with Reid’s Orchard to bring you a day filled with live music, great food and a family-friendly atmosphere. The brand new Orchard Music Fest will be held on September 28 at Reid’s Orchard. PorchFest 2024 will also be held this year, so follow them on Facebook for more details!

BBQ and Barrels is coming back to downtown Owensboro this spring for two days of delicious barbecue, craft vendors, live music and bourbon tasting. This festival will be held May 10 and 11, and you can buy tickets for the bourbon-tasting portion of the event right here!

Go ahead and make plans for the Owensboro Air Show, held in downtown Owensboro September 14 and 15. All eyes will be on the skies over the Ohio River as performers showcase vintage warbirds, aerobatic demonstrations and military jets, including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels this year! This event is free to the public and brings thousands of visitors to Owensboro each year.

The Bluegrass Legends Experience is making a comeback after last year’s success! Moreland Park and the Owensboro Sportscenter will host this three-day event, where fans will find a multi-style car show, live music, beer garden, vendors, food trucks and a “swap meet” area. Bluegrass Legends will be held August 16-18.

The 26th Annual Owensboro Multicultural Festival will be held August 17 on the front lawn of First Presbyterian Church. This is an amazing event that showcases the food, culture and history of so many different places, and it’s free to the public.

We’ve also got two festivals coming up this year at The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Company! The Strawberry Festival will feature tons of delicious sweet treats and vendors and the Pumpkin & Pickle Festival will be held in the fall, featuring everything pumpkin- and pickle-flavored! More details about each festival will be released in the near future.
