Owensboro, we need your help, and this October, there’s a new way to show your support.
This October, Owensboro is turning pink as local businesses come together with the Owensboro Health Foundation and Downtown Owensboro for Paint the Town Pink, a community-wide effort supporting local cancer patients through Give Cancer the Boot 2026.
The idea is simple: businesses throughout downtown and across Owensboro are invited to become official Give Cancer the Boot Pink Partners by choosing a special give-back promotion during the month of October. Businesses can participate with a percentage of sales, a round-up campaign, a special pink menu item or product, or another promotion that works best for their business.
As the month goes on, shoppers, diners, and visitors will have plenty of opportunities to spot participating businesses and support the cause simply by shopping and enjoying some of what Owensboro’s local businesses have to offer.
But Paint the Town Pink is about more than just adding a splash of pink to Owensboro. It’s about coming together as a community to support local families and patients at Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center.
Cancer has touched so many lives, and this campaign allows Owensboro’s business community to turn that shared experience into something positive. Every pink storefront, special promotion, and donation represents a community standing together and reminding local families that they aren’t alone.
And you’ll know who is participating. Official Pink Partners will help paint Owensboro pink with special signage, campaign materials, and promotions throughout the month, making it easy for the community to shop, dine, and participate in the cause.
So, as you’re out and about in Owensboro this October, keep an eye out for the pink. Stop by participating businesses, check out their special promotions, and help support the local businesses that are giving back to a cause that matters to so many.
