More Than 4,000 Athletes Are Discovering Owensboro During the Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit

Thousands of athletes are competing in Owensboro this July, but the Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit is about much more than the games being played.

Over nearly three weeks, the inaugural Summit is bringing together 11 sporting events at venues throughout Owensboro and Daviess County. More than 4,000 athletes, along with their families and fans, are expected to visit our community, filling hotel rooms, dining in local restaurants, shopping, and experiencing everything Owensboro has to offer.

Sports tourism continues to be one of the fastest-growing segments of the travel industry, and events like the Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit demonstrate why Owensboro has become a destination for tournaments of every size.

The Summit includes youth baseball, adult softball, tennis, bowling, taekwondo, disc golf, cornhole, trail running, mountain biking, basketball and other competitions spread across multiple weekends. That extended schedule helps generate a steady flow of visitors throughout the month while introducing new guests to our parks, attractions, restaurants and riverfront.
