Celebrating a True Standout: Taylor Deveaux’s 8-Year Impact at Visit Owensboro

Since 2017, Taylor Deveaux has been the kind of board member every organization hopes for — dependable, driven, and deeply committed to making her community better. She shows up, gives her time, and elevates everyone around her. After eight incredible years of service, one thing’s for sure: her shoes won’t be easy to fill.

Taylor joined the board in 2017 and stepped into the treasurer role just a year later. And for the past eight years, she’s done it all — month after month, year after year — helping guide our finances with incredible consistency. In fact, under her leadership as treasurer, we’ve had eight straight years of clean audits —the highest possible score

She was also part of the board in 2017 that commissioned the original sports study, which laid the groundwork for the indoor sports component at the convention center — and ultimately helped bring the new downtown sports complex to life. That single decision continues to shape the success we’re seeing today.

When COVID hit, Taylor helped lead this organization through the toughest period hospitality has ever faced. But she didn’t just help us survive — she positioned us for a strong comeback. Her guidance with ARPA funding was a huge part of that. She helped build a reporting system that’s become a model for reporting and accountability. And beyond strategy, she rolled up her sleeves and helped process checks and manage the books month after month. Quietly and consistently.

Thanks to that kind of leadership, our community is now seeing the payoff. In 2024, our hotels hit their highest revenue in history. The last five months? Record-setting occupancy. That’s no accident — that’s the result of steady, smart work from people like Taylor.
