Visit Owensboro, in partnership with the City of Owensboro, is excited to announce the return of Burger Week on March 7-15, 2025. Owensboro Burger Week, which is sponsored by the Kentucky Beef Council, German American Bank, Hill View Farms Meats, and Green River Distilling Company showcases signature burgers from restaurants throughout the city and county. Any Daviess County restaurant can participate, and several have already come on board.
“Our beloved Burger Week is back and better than ever. We can’t say thank you enough to our sponsors and to our restaurants who work tirelessly to make this food extravaganza possible. No one does Burger Week like Owensboro,” said Dave Kirk, Visit Owensboro Destination Management.
“Burger Week is an event that has exploded in popularity quicker than any of us expected. The city is excited to work with the Convention and Visitors Bureau again this year for this mouth-watering event for the community, which benefits so many of our local restaurants,” said Tim Ross, City of Owensboro Public Events Director.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with Visit Owensboro to spotlight local restaurants and get consumers excited about trying new beef pairings, all while stimulating community support and recognizing the hard-working folks that get our beef from pasture to plate,” said Amelia Carter, Kentucky Beef Council.
During Owensboro Burger Week, each participating restaurant will sell a burger of their choosing for $8 with or without tax. Each restaurant will decide how large the burger will be and if it comes with any sides.
“We have watched Burger Week grow year over year and are excited to be a sponsor for this year’s event. It’s awesome to see our community come together and support local businesses all while enjoying some great burgers. This event has definitely become something that Owensboro looks forward to every year,” said Nicole Ebelhar, Green River Distilling Company Visitor Experience Manager
The German American Bank People’s Choice award will return after its highly anticipated debut last year.
“Seeing Kim’s Diner reaction to winning our award last year was priceless. The security camera footage went viral and it’s just a testament to how hard these businesses work not only during Burger Week but all year long,” said Kyle Aud, German American Bank.
A tasting panel of local celebrities and food critics will judge all the burgers from each of the participating restaurants throughout the week without knowing which restaurant the burger came from. Judges will tally all of the scores to select an overall winner who will receive a traveling trophy and bragging rights for the Burger of the Year.
