Rhonda Vincent Christmas Show
The best way to do the holidays in Kentucky is to kick off Christmas with a bluegrass twist! This weekend, the Rhonda Vincent Christmas Show is coming to town, and here’s everything you need to know. On December 5, multi-award winner Rhonda Vincent will be taking the stage at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum for a night of holiday classics performed by one of the biggest names in the music industry. So bring your Santa hats and get festive for this one! Vincent is a powerhouse vocalist who’s won a 2017 Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album, a 2001 Entertainer of the Year from the IBMA and an unprecedented SEVEN consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year awards from 2000-2006, with an eighth win in 2015. Tickets to see the Rhonda Vincent Christmas Show are $38 and the show starts at 7 p.m.
Live Reindeers at the Science Museum
Have you ever seen a real reindeer?? One of the coolest events of the season is coming to the Owensboro Museum of Science and History this weekend as their annual Live Reindeer Experience is being held! Visitors will have the opportunity to have pictures made with Santa Claus and meet live reindeer at the same place. This is a fun event for the entire family to enjoy, and people of all ages are welcome to experience it. You’ll have two chances to meet the reindeer as the event will be held on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and free for OMSH members.
Candy Cane Hunt
An exciting, brand new event is coming to Yellow Creek Park this holiday season! Daviess County Parks & Recreation is hosting the Candy Cane Hunt on December 7. This event will feature live music, a petting zoo, festive photo opportunities, a meet-and-greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus, merchants selling cool gifts, delicious food trucks and, last but not least, a candy cane hunt with 3,000 candy canes that’s open for children ages 3-10. If you want to get into the holiday spirit in all the right ways, head to Yellow Creek Park from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The Candy Cane Hunt is free to the public!
