In case you didn’t know, Owensboro is one of the best places in the state of Kentucky for trick-or-treating! There are always a ton of family-friendly events happening throughout the month of October. So from trunk-or-treating to Halloween in the park events, we wanted to break down a list of all the places you can dress up, grab some candy, and celebrate the beautiful fall season with your loved ones!
The City of Owensboro is hosting its annual Trail of Treats this year on Thursday, October 24 from 5:30-8 p.m. This event features over 60 booths sponsored by local businesses and organizations, where kids and families can trick-or-treat downtown while enjoying music and other fun festivities. This free event will run along West 2nd Street and Veterans Blvd. from Daviess to Frederica Streets.
On October 25, head over to Yellow Creek Park for their first-ever Halloween Hullaballoo! This event will feature a pumpkin patch, movie in the park, food vendors, games and crafts, wagon rides and, of course, trick-or-treating! There will also be a costume contest, so come all decked out for this one! This free event will run from 5-8 p.m.
Another fun event for all the ghosts and goblins out there is the Trunk or Treat at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home! Held on Thursday, October 24, join the team at Haley McGinnis for a night of trick-or-treating in the parking lot! This event is free and will be held from 5-7 p.m.
It’s not Halloween without a trip to the Owensboro Regional Farmers’ Market! And you can double up on the fun at their Halloween Market, held on Saturday, October 26 from 8 a.m.-noon. Enjoy trick-or-treating, a costume parade, and prizes awarded! There will also be some fun children’s activities as well.
A Halloween Spooktacular will be hosted by Beverly’s Hearty Slice on October 18 at Kendall-Perkins Park. You can score candy, costumes, face-painting, hot chocolate, pizza and more at this amazing event! Head over to the park at 5:30 p.m.
