ROMPtober
Enjoy a bluegrass-themed Oktoberfest complete with craft beer, live bands, vendors and delicious food trucks at ROMPtober! This inaugural event is for those who love Owensboro’s annual ROMP music fest and want the perfect fall event to hold them over until next June. This two-day fest will be held October 11 and 12. On Friday, head to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame at 3 p.m. for craft beer tasting, a craft beer documentary and live music from Cutter & Cash and The Kentucky Grass at 7 p.m., followed by Full Cord at 8 p.m. On Saturday, this fest will be held outside on the outdoor stage overlooking the riverfront. A jamming workshop will kick things off, followed by the Sullivan Sisters at 1:30 p.m., a craft beer workshop at 3 and Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle at 3:30. Enjoy an infused bourbon workshop and music from Damn Tall Buildings to close out the day. Tickets are $20 (Friday) or $29 (Saturday) or $39 for a weekend pass.
Tattoo Expo
One hundred different tattoo artists are heading to Owensboro for one of the coolest events of the year! The Owensboro Tattoo Expo will feature artists from all over the world, so this could be an amazing opportunity to score some new ink from some of the best in the business! This is a live tattooing expo, but these artists are also competing for awards. So if you’re not in the market for a new tattoo, you can still come and watch them showcase their skills. Artists will take walk-ups, but you can also directly message them on Facebook ahead of time to make an appointment at the expo. This event will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center on Friday, October 11 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday, October 12 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Sunday, October 13 from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Celtic Thunder
This internationally-acclaimed singing group is coming to Owensboro for an amazing show on October 11 at the RiverPark Center! Celtic Thunder is presenting a new show, “Odyssey,” this year, but will remain true to its roots by taking you on a fascinating journey through Irish music and culture. As the word “Odyssey” implies, Celtic Thunder will take you on a sweeping voyage through the heartland of traditional Irish music, the rhythmic pulse of contemporary Irish music, and the innovative arrangements that are emblematic of Celtic Thunder’s unique sound. This is a fun opportunity to try something different and learn something new! Tickets to see Celtic Thunder start at $59 and the show starts at 7 p.m.
