One of Owensboro’s favorite locally-owned restaurants is expanding its menu and offering something exciting and new for its customers in the form of smoked meats. So when we caught wind of this new business venture, we had to reach out to the owner of Shiloh’s Lounge for more info!
Starting about a month ago, the team at Shiloh’s Lounge–a fun restaurant and bar that’s become a hotspot for both college-aged kids and older adults–began smoking meats as they begin to enter their fifth year in operation. And according to owner Justin Davidson, this has been a major win for his establishment.
Davidson said he’d been learning the process of smoking meats for a while before taking the leap to add new items to his menu. Davidson uses a variety of wood to stir up different flavors, including hickory, cherry and pecan wood.
“We’re smoking brisket, boston butt, crab legs–and nobody else is smoking those. We’re going to start smoking ribs soon too. Right now, our number one best-selling item is probably brisket, but customers are loving our whole smoked wings too.”
Davidson said the meat on the smoked wings falls off the bone, and that customers are loving the fact that the whole wings at Shiloh’s Lounge provide more meat than any of the wings you’d order at a chain restaurant.
Shiloh’s Lounge also makes its own house sauces and dipping sauces, Davidson said, adding that he and his team are “going all out” to make every one of these new items as authentic and delicious as possible.
Shiloh’s Lounge offers a variety of other food on their menu as well–with items ranging from pork chops to burgers to the new addition of soft-serve ice cream. And two times a month, you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on Sundays.
Davidson said his restaurant also has tons of themed events, college nights that have brought in upwards of 400 people, an indoor golf simulator, indoor corn hole, indoor and outdoor seating, free arcade games, full bar service, and they host all the college and NFL football games on the big screens.
For now, you can order smoked wings every day at Shiloh’s Lounge, while the other smoked items will be offered Wednesday-Saturday.
