Owensboro will host the 2025 Kentucky All “A” Classic Basketball Championships for both boys and girls, according to a joint announcement by Visit Owensboro and the Kentucky All “A” Classic. The tournament features 32 of the state’s top small school teams and will take place Jan. 22-26, 2025, at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
Mark Calitri, president of Visit Owensboro, praised the partnership with the Kentucky All “A” Classic. “The All ‘A’ Classic represents the smaller schools in Kentucky, and we are going to create a true championship atmosphere,” Calitri said. “This is an incredible opportunity to introduce Owensboro’s vibrant community to athletes, fans, and school administrators from across the state.”
The release said the tournament is expected to draw over 32,000 fans and generate an economic impact of more than $1.9 million for the local community. Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson said the city is ready to showcase its attractions. “With our exceptional riverfront and fantastic local attractions, restaurants, and shops, we’re eager to welcome visitors and ensure a memorable experience for everyone,” Watson said.
