Owensboro is bringing the first event of its kind to our county parks, and this one is for all the dog lovers!!
Pups In The Park will be held at Panther Creek Park for two days, September 21 and 22, where you’ll find all kinds of pups showing off their best aquatic skills.
Yep, this world premiere event is a canine aquatics competition that features a dock diving competition and other American Kennel Club (AKC) sanctioned events. These include Fast CAT (Coursing Ability Test) Temperament Test and AKC Fetch, which will be super fun to watch!
But that’s not all. Pups In The Park goes beyond the competitions by hosting exciting events for kiddos, local rescue organizations, vendors, food trucks and more. For the first time ever, the spray park at Panther Creek Park will be open to all pups!
Shop for pet-specific items, and eat from a wide variety of food vendors that will be selling everything from barbecue to sweet treats to ice cream and snow cones.
The Big Air aquatics competition is basically the long jump of canine water sports. Taking place on a 36-foot dock and pool, the competing dog will run and jump into the water after a toy is tossed.
Daviess County Animal Care & Control will be onsite offering a discounted microchip clinic from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, September 21 at only $10/pet. There will also be Pet Tech CPR & First Aid Training, pets available for adoption, a dog parkour demonstration, free dog trick training and inflatables for kids.
Pups In The Park will be held from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. both days.
