We know everyone out there loves a good car show! And we’ve got one of the biggest ones of the year coming to Owensboro in August!
The Bluegrass Legends Experience is a massive car show taking place for three days–August 16, 17 and 18. Held at Owensboro Sportscenter and Moreland Park, here’s everything you need to know ahead of time!
This car show will feature cars, trucks, rat rods AND motorcycles. This isn’t just about vehicles, however, as there will be more than 25 food trucks, a beer garden, vendors and quality family entertainment keeping your engine revving during this three-day fest. Even cooler, this event raises money for the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Oh, and did we mention it’s FREE to all spectators?!
Bluegrass Legends Experience will kick off on Friday, August 16 at 5 p.m. CST with a cruise-in atmosphere. Inside the Owensboro Sportscenter will be a Evel Knievel display along with event merch, select vendors and some key vehicle displays. Outside is where you can enjoy food trucks and vendors from 5-9 p.m., along with live music at Moreland Park. You can also head to windy Hollow Dragway for a street vehicle Tech & Tune opportunity where you can run your car on the dragstrip!
Vendors are coming to Owensboro from all over the country for this amazing car show! On Saturday, you can participate in a swap meet. That evening, fans can visit an historic drag strip just 12 miles away for a full program of 1/8 mile bracket racing.
And on Sunday, return to Moreland Park and Owensboro Sportscenter for Day 3 of custom cars, jeeps, trucks, rat rods and motorcycles, as well as another day of food trucks, vendors and live music! Sunday morning will include an Open-Air Church Service in the park. A car show awards ceremony will be held in the park on Sunday afternoon with over 200 awards given out!
New to the Bluegrass Legends Experience this year is an audio competition and classic muscle bicycle show. There will be onsite truck/trailer RV Parking with 24-hour security, and there is a $25 entry fee to register your vehicle for the show.
