The best Fourth of July fireworks shows in the state of Kentucky are coming up soon, so here’s everything you need to know!
First up, we’ve got 4th Fest at the Owensboro Convention Center on Thursday, July 4, and this Independence Day celebration’s got all the bells and whistles for a memorable night out.
This family-friendly event has fun activities for everyone, including a variety of options inside the exhibit halls on the first floor for kiddos. Younger kids will love the Bouncer Maze, Bucky’s Pirate ship and games like Duck Pond! Older kids can climb a rock wall or scale a spider climb. There will also be a Toxic Warrior Jump and Extreme Chaos Obstacle Course.
As for the fireworks, the Convention Center is where you’re gonna get the best views of the multi-colored explosions over the Ohio River. Tickets start at $10 and include early access to the inflatables and activities from 4-6 p.m. The exhibit hall will be free and open to the public from 6-9 p.m., with the fireworks show kicking off at 9:15 p.m. There will also be live music with opening acts starting at 5 p.m.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW–the fireworks over the river will be one of four fireworks displays happening at the same time across the city of Owensboro. The 15-minute show can be enjoyed from the Southern Little League fields, Owensboro Sportscenter/Moreland Park and Owensboro Warehouse Leasing (formerly GE plant). You can tune into 92.5 WBKR to listen to a patriotic soundtrack accompanying the fireworks displays.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! On Friday, July 5, you can enjoy another round of fireworks held by German American Bank from 5-9 p.m. The German American Bank Fireworks Festival will be held at Yellow Creek Park and will feature a live band, food trucks, inflatables and a petting zoo!
Farm Broadcaster Jeff Nalley will emcee this free event! The festival begins at 5 p.m. and the fireworks will launch at 8:45 p.m. Be sure to bring your own chairs! Just FYI, dogs and alcohol are not allowed at this event.
