Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: May 31-June 1

River City Bike Expo      

If you’ve got a motorcycle you wanna show off, or even if you’re looking for something new for your bike, this is the event for you! The River City Bike Expo will be held May 31-June 2 at the Owensboro Convention Center. There will be a little bit of everything here! Vendors, Tattoo Booths, Bike Shows, Stunt Shows, free live music at our award-winning music festival–Friday After 5, a Sound Warz Competition on the Pier, a Pub Crawl, and an Awards Show for all the bikes. Even more, you can enjoy a pizza-eating contest, the Rolling Thunder Tribute Wall and the Get Bent Moto Performance Bagger Show on the front lawn. Doors open at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 31 and at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. 

Friday After 5   

This is where the weekend begins! Friday After 5 is Owensboro’s award-winning summer music festival that is FREE to the public! Stretching all along our beautiful riverfront, you’ll find different live shows at a few different venues that you can explore and enjoy throughout the evening. On May 31, FA5 will feature performances from the Boscoe France Band with Paul Reed Smith on the Jagoe Homes Stage on Truist Plaza at the RiverPark Center, as well as Happiness Jones on the Overlook Stage. You’ll also get a live performance from Andy Brasher on the Romain Subaru Stage on The Pier at the Owensboro Convention Center. Friday After 5 runs from 5 p.m.-11:30 p.m. 

Day Trip to Our Botanical Garden    

The plants and flowers are in bloom at Western Kentucky Botanical Garden, so it’s time for you to make a visit to see one of the prettiest places in Kentucky! This 8-acre garden is full of native and non-native plant species, lily ponds full of Koi fish, walking paths, gazebos, modern art sculptures and even an area for kids to hang out and play! Visit the historic WeatherBerry House on arrival and check out WKBG’s amazing gift shop inside! This is a beautiful, peaceful place for visitors of all ages and walks of life, and one of the highlights of a trip to Owensboro. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and veterans and $2 for children.
