Dog Grooming/Training Expo
We’ve got a unique event for all our proud pet parents out there! May 17-19, the RW GroomX Grooming Competition & Expo will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center. But this is more than just a grooming contest–it’s an entire weekend filled with activities for dog lovers. The RW GroomX will include educational workshops led by industry professionals from around the world sharing their knowledge about subjects ranging from grooming to handling difficult dogs to geriatric dog care. You’ll learn about grooming tools and, if you’re the owner of a grooming company, how to build your business. There will be interactive exhibits where visitors can meet with manufacturers and vendors offering pet supplies, pet products and other additional services. Cricket Tournament and Cultural Celebration
The Owensboro Cricket Association is hosting a tournament at Panther Creek Park this weekend to celebrate Indian culture! This event will feature authentic Indian cuisine, a number of amazing vendors, a kite festival, live music, games and more! The celebration begins May 17 at McConnell Plaza from 6-9 p.m. with DJ Blaze playing Indian music while attendees enjoy a Bollywood dance, Holi–The Festival of Colors, and cuisine from Indian food trucks. The cricket tournament will be held the next day, May 18, at Panther Creek Park, where anyone and everyone is invited to attend this magnificent experience. Rodney Carrington Live
On May 17, you can see American comedian, country music artist and actor Rodney Carrington perform live in Owensboro! This Texas native is currently touring across the country playing sold-out shows from California to Pennsylvania right now. A platinum-selling artist, Carrington is fresh off a release from his latest album, “Get ‘Em Out,” which hit #1 on iTunes. Carrington has starred in his own TV sitcom, “Rodney,” and starred with Toby Keith for the film “Beer For My Horses.” Carrington also had his own Netflix special, “Here Comes The Truth.” Tickets to see Rodney Carrington are $46.50 and the show starts at 7 p.m. at RiverPark Center in downtown Owensboro.
