BBQ And Barrels
Barbecue season is upon us, folks!! And you can get ALL the barbecue (and then some) this weekend at BBQ and Barrels. This is a huge festival held along Second Street in downtown Owensboro on May 10 and 11. We’ll have five church cooking teams serving up their delicious pork, chicken and mutton, and there will be more than 20 different barbecue vendors and food trucks set up along the street as well. A Backyard Cook-Off will be held on Saturday, and you’ll also be treated to the Kentucky Champions Motorcar Invitational Car Show on May 11 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., arts and crafts vendors, and a carnival filled with rides, games and concessions, just east of the Blue Bridge. Food Sales begin at noon on Friday, May 10.
Chris Janson At BBQ and Barrels
This is arguably the best bourbon for your buck festival, and here’s why! For a $65 ticket, they’ll have 35 tasting stations featuring over 100 whiskeys. You’ll find an incredible range of distilleries there too–everything from Four Roses to Makers Mark to Green River Distilling Co., along with some smaller establishments too. And you’ll even get a FREE concert from country music superstar Chris Janson, who will be playing live music outside the Owensboro Convention Center on Saturday, May 11 with special guest Hannah Ellis. You can bring your lawn chair or blanket and get an amazing show from this headliner at 6 p.m., with a couple openers playing before him. And don’t forget–there will also be a dinner held by Green River Distilling Co. on Friday, May 10 filled with food and bourbon pairings!

Celebrate Mom and leave the cooking and cleaning to the pros at this Mother’s Day Brunch! Enjoy the elegant setting of the third-floor ballrooms within the Owensboro Convention Center, offering picturesque riverfront views for your mother and you to enjoy. Mom will be in for a treat with a delicious brunch buffet, plus all moms will receive a complimentary gift to take home. Stop by a photo booth for some pictures to remember this day while you’re there! Tickets are $25 for adults, $12.50 for children ages 6-12 and free for children five and under.
