Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: January 26-28

Micro Wrestling

If you’ve never been to a Micro Wrestling event, this is your sign to change that! The Micro Wrestling Federation is a full-scale, WWE-type event supported by an entire cast who are all under five feet tall. And it’s going to be pure pandemonium as these wrestlers body slam, headlock and face punch their way through an evening of nonstop action. You’ll get to see two single matches, a Micro Brawl and a Micro Rumble, where the Micro Superstars enter the ring and compete for the championship belt. Only one Micro Wrestler will be the winner, and you won’t wanna miss it! This event will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center on January 26 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $23.99 and this show is appropriate for all ages.

Disney Tribute at the Owensboro Symphony

If you’re a fan of an amazing Disney soundtrack (and honestly, who isn’t?) we’ve got the perfect concert for you this weekend! Magical Memories: Tribute to Disney Legend Alan Menken will take place at the RiverPark Center on January 27. The fabulous Owensboro Symphony is paying tribute to Menken’s outstanding career as a songwriter and composer. Some of the best Disney songs will be performed at this show, including tracks from Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. You can purchase tickets right here for $45 and the show starts at 7 p.m.

The Local Honeys at Bluegrass Hall of Fame

It’s just a little cold outside these days, which is why the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum is here to bring you its Winter Warmer Series–composed of three different concerts held throughout January and February. And to kick things off, we’ve got The Local Honeys performing on January 25! Though many artists are defined by place, only a handful come to define the places they’re from. For The Local Honeys, that place is Kentucky. The duo of Montana Hobbs and Linda Jean Stokley have garnered countless awards and accomplishments over the last 10 years, and they’ve even toured with big names like Tyler Childers and Colter Wall. At only $20 apiece, the price of tickets for a show like this can’t be beat. The Local Honeys will perform on the second floor of the Hall of Fame, and the show starts at 7 p.m.
