Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: January 19-21

Bluegrass Open Archery Tournament

We’ve got the first archery event of the year this weekend at the Owensboro Convention Center as the Midwest Open Indoor Archery Tournament expands into Owensboro with the Bluegrass Open! This tournament will bring in a ton of archers across all age groups to compete in several different events from January 19-21. The weekend competition includes the NFAA 5 Spot 360 and Vegas 330 rounds. This is an open tournament, so anyone is welcome to participate. Tour at the Bluegrass Hall of Fame

With it being so cold out, right now is the perfect time to head over to Owensboro and visit the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum. At this world-class facility, you can interact with the history of Bluegrass music, including the people and instruments that made it. Take a tour through limited-time exhibits, permanent features and the Hall of Fame itself. You can even strum a banjo or mandolin while you’re there! General Admission is $14 for adults and $12 for students aged 6-18, while children 5 and under get in free. General Admission includes a free audio guide for the tour.

Try Our Locally-Brewed Beer

Owensboro is making more of its own locally-crafted beer than ever before, so this weekend is a perfect time to check out three of our amazing facilities and taste what they’ve got brewin’! Goodwood Owensboro gives you perfect riverfront views while you’re tasting everything they have to offer. You can find everything from IPAs to stouts at Goodwood. And at Brew Bridge, they’re hard at work making their second beer of the year as we speak! Their Head Brewer is always trying new things, so you’ll never be bored–nor disappointed–with a Brew Bridge beer. If you’re worn out and wanna rest in your hotel room, you can even pick up some cans of beer to go. And while you’re here, be sure to check out Pub on Second–they’ve got an entire list of locally-brewed beer on tap, serving everything from Peppermint Blonde Ales to Experimental Double NEIPAs to Coffee Ambers with notes of Vanilla and Caramel.
