Bluegrass Winter Warmer Series Provides Cozy, Intimate Vibes with Musicians

Hear us out. It’s January, it’s cold, it’s even kinda gloomy outside. Which is why the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum has created its very own lineup of wintertime bluegrass concerts to get you through the next (cold) few weeks!

The Winter Warmer concert series is featuring three different artists throughout the months of January and February. Kicking things off on January 25 will be The Local Honeys, followed by Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band on February 8 and Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle on February 29.

As an FYI, these concerts are designed to be cozy and intimate, so only 150 people will get into each show. This gives attendees the chance to see some amazing artists perform up close and personal, so what a treat!

If you haven’t been listening to The Local Honeys, this is your sign to start. Though many artists are defined by place, only a handful of artists have come to define the places they’re from. And for The Local Honeys, that place is Kentucky.

For almost a decade, the duo of Montana Hobbs and Linda Jean Stanley have been garnered countless accolades for their authentic Kentucky sound. They’ve also toured with some of the greats, including Tyler Childers and Colter Wall. At only $20 a ticket, this is a concert you NEED to check out if you’re a true, blue Kentucky bluegrass fan.

And on February 8, you can see the Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band, widely recognized as one of the most exciting young bands in acoustic music! This team plays a unique mix of bluegrass, David Grisman music (DAWG), jazz and modern originals. Hailing from California, this band was the recipient of the 2023 International Bluegrass Band of the Year. They’ve opened for the likes of Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives and David Grisman, so they’ve earned the respect of some of the greatest bluegrass musicians of our time. Again, you can’t beat this price at $20 a ticket, and there’s never been a better time to check these guys out.

Finally, you can check out Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle on February 29. These boys have that toe-tappin’, knee slappin’ energy kind of sound—part rowdy honkytonk, part old-time pioneers. They pull from a variety of genres—everything from Lead Belly to John Prine to Willy Tea Taylor—to create something unique and deeply authentic. This is the kinda music that makes a best friend out of the stranger sittin’ next to you, and the kinda sound that could warm anyone up on a cold day. Tickets to see Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle are $20.

All Winter Warmer shows will be held on the second floor of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame and Museum. A bar and concessions will be available for purchase onsite.
