Try A New Beer at Brew Bridge
One of our city’s coolest hangout spots, Brew Bridge is constantly working and innovating to keep its brewpub and restaurant a top-notch beer destination for all our visitors. While they continually rotate its taps to drop new beers all the time, the brewery just did a double drop this month that sound perfect for the holiday season! First up is a delicious double chocolate oatmeal stout that was brewed with maple syrup and coffee (courtesy of Stave Coffee Company). You can also try a brand new coconut milkshake IPA brewed with pale malt, fluffy oats and vanilla. You can score both of these either on tap or in a four-pack of cans!
Stock Up on Christmas Cookies
Christmas is the time of year when everyone gets to enjoy sweets without counting calories, and Owensboro has a ton of amazing bakeries that produce some of the cutest and tastiest holiday cookies! Over at the Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co., you can find snowflake-shaped sugar cookies, oreo balls drizzled in icing and sprinkled with red and green sprinkles, and everything from oatmeal raisin to chocolate chip that can be purchased individually or on a platter. And at Niko’s Bakery, you can order a platter of bourbon balls, red velvet cakes or a half dozen chocolate eclairs. And don’t forget about their delicious chocolate chip cookie croissants!
Last-Minute Christmas Gifts
For anyone scrambling to put together a last-minute Christmas gift, we’ve got you covered! If your loved one craves something sweet, head to Great Harvest to grab a loaf of their famous specialty bread (there are a variety of flavors available). You could even head to the gift shop at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum for some cool Bluegrass merch! Speaking of Bluegrass music, a couple of ROMP tickets never makes a bad gift. Another great idea would be a membership to the Owensboro Museum of Science and History! And if you’re a gift basket kinda person, you can make them custom at Trunnell’s Farm Market.
