Kiddos will get to meet and take free photos with Santa, and you can even write your own letters to him! Breakfast will include fluffy pancakes with your choice of toppings, sausage and juice. Tickets are $12 at the door and a family of four can get tickets for $32 in advance. Children two and under get in free. Breakfast with Santa runs from 7:30-10 a.m.

Bluegrass Futsal Cup

The coolest new sport on the market is gonna be on display this weekend! The Owensboro United Soccer Club is hosting the Bluegrass Futsal Cup for three days (December 15-17) at the Owensboro Convention Center, where you can see how this game is played up close. A cross between football and soccer, futsal has been growing in popularity over the last few years, and this tournament is going to bring some of the best teams in the state to Owensboro for this large-scale tournament. Admission to the Bluegrass Futsal Cup is $10 for a weekend wristband or $5 per day. Children 8 and under get in free.

Downtown Christmas Lights

What better way to celebrate the holiday season than with a trip to Owensboro’s gorgeous downtown riverfront? The City of Owensboro had decked out Smothers Park so that it feels like a true winter wonderland. The “Dancing Lights” will transform the center portion of Smothers Park into an interactive holiday lightshow that dances to a different Christmas song every 10 minutes! You can also check out our ginormous Christmas Tree and new Bourbon Barrel Tree while you’re there. You can experience all this Christmas magic for free from 5-9 p.m. each night.
