Your Guide To A Perfect Date Night in Owensboro

We believe every couple deserves a great date night. And if it’s been a little too long since the last time you got out of the house and hit the town, hear us out when we say we’ve got a perfect date night for you right here in Owensboro!

What constitutes a great night out? Maybe a romantic dinner, maybe some music. Maybe trying something new you’ve never done before? Or maybe a combination of all three! But if you’ve got a blank canvas when it comes to ideas, here are some great options for your next date night out in Owensboro.

To kick off your date night, schedule a tour at Green River Distilling Co. It’s located just a couple miles from downtown Owensboro and is ranked as one of the best bourbon tours in Kentucky! At only $20 per person, this is a super affordable way to try something new with your loved one. You’ll even get to taste a few of the bourbons they make onsite at the end of the hour-long tour.

After your tour, head to downtown Owensboro after your tour to grab some drinks from one of our local breweries. The Pub on Second, Brew Bridge, Goodwood Owensboro, SIP Wine Room, City Walk—these are all great options for a pre-dinner drink.

If you ask for a green cup to carry your drink in, you and your date can walk around Smother’s Park and take in the amazing holiday atmosphere. From 5-9 p.m., see the Dancing Lights light up downtown Owensboro and listen to holiday music as you take in amazing views of the Ohio River.

Dinner options are endless, really, but some of the places you could check out include Lure Seafood and Grille, The Famous Bistro, Don Mario’s, The Miller House, Colby’s, City Walk of Owensboro, Goodwood Owensboro, Mellow Mushroom, Burger Theory and Fetta Specialty Pizza & Spirits.

Now for the music. We’ve got a ton of amazing concerts coming up in Owensboro, so it really just depends on what you like! If you’re into Bluegrass (which Owensboro is famous for), check out the list of upcoming shows at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum. If you want some Christmas music, the Owensboro Symphony is one of the best in the country, and they’ve got a holiday concert coming up, along with Magical Memories: A Tribute to Disney Legend Alan Menken. And if country or rock music is more up your alley, head over to Brasher’s Lil’ Nashville for the night.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, a night at one of our downtown hotels is the perfect way to end the night in luxury, with views overlooking the winding Ohio River.
