Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: December 1-3

The Nutcracker     

If you want all the holiday feels and a great performance to go with it, head to the RiverPark Center this weekend to see The German American Bank Nutcracker. Children and adults of all ages will discover the joy of Christmas through the beauty of music and dance at this production put on by Owensboro Dance Theatre. You will be awe-inspired through moving digital backdrops as you enter into Marie’s dream along with her, discovering a timeless tale of adventure of wonder. Shows will be held December 2 at 7 p.m. and December 3 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $17.

REAL Southern Gospel  

This is your chance to experience a night of southern gospel with a performance from The Hoppers and The Williamsons! On December 1, head over to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum for a double performance from two of the biggest bands in the Southern Gospel music genre. This concert is part of the REAL Southern Gospel weekend, hosted by Les Butler. These award-winning bands have topped the charts and continued singing for more than 100 years combined! Tickets to see this REAL Southern Gospel performance are $35 and the concert starts at 7 p.m.

Preservation Station 

If you haven’t been to Preservation Station, this is a must-have experience that needs to be checked off your bucket list! This former elementary school-turned-marketplace showcases items than range from unique to boutique. With over 60 different shops to peruse, you can find everything from holiday décor to house furniture to clothing and jewelry. There’s also a restaurant onsite that serves all of your southern favorites, so it’s the perfect way to kick back and rest after a day of shopping. Preservation Station is open this weekend from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and the restaurant is open Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
