Rocky Horror Picture Show
It’s officially spooky season, which means it’s time to head over to RiverPark Center for the annual viewing of Rocky Horror Picture Show! This cult classic musical-comedy tells the story of Brad and Janet, who find themselves seeking refuge from a storm in a mysterious castle owned by the flamboyant Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The film has a unique participatory nature where viewers often attend midnight screenings dressed as characters, shouting callbacks and interacting with the movie in a fun manner, transforming the film into a cultural phenomenon. This annual sale is designed to stretch your budget! Pigtails and Cowlicks will feature more than 500 families selling new or gently used children’s items at amazing prices! You can find clothing, toys, furniture, books, baby gear, shoes, hair bows, boutique items and more. And this consignment sale is for kids of ALL ages—from babies to teenagers! There is no admission to shop and cash and credit/debit cards are accepted. Pigtails and Cowlicks will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center on October 27 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
John Lanham Jam Day
Spend a beautiful day in the great outdoors listening to bluegrass music at John Lanham Jam Day! Held at the Yellow Creek Pioneer Village, there will be music jammin’ all day long. Kicking off with an open mic at 10 a.m., you can hear the Fletcher family perform, followed by the World Record Holding Largest Bluegrass Band. Barry Lanham & The Foot Stompin’ Express Open Dance, King’s Highway, Bluegrass Brothers and Shrimp N Grits will also take the stage! Enjoy food vendors, old-time crafts, trick-or-treating, a petting zoo and lots more at this all day shindig. John Lanham Jam Day will be held on October 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
