Take A Kid Camping      

If you’re looking for the perfect family-friendly adventure, you’ve come to the right place! The Kids Outdoor Adventures series is continuing this weekend with “Take A Kid Camping at Panther Creek Park” on Friday, October 20. Campsites will be available around the lake for the overnight stay, and activities will include bingo (with prizes), s’mores and one community campfire for all to enjoy. Just bring your own camping supplies and register ahead of time by calling the Daviess County Conservation District at 270-685-1707, Ext. 3. This event is free!

Pumpkin and Pickle Fest

The Cottage will be holding its Pumpkin and Pickle Festival this weekend, so if you’re a fan of pumpkins, pickles, shopping and all things fall, this is the perfect event! Held October 21 and 22, you can stock up on fall décor, cute gifts and tons of homemade items and treats from over 80 different vendors. If you need some Halloween pumpkins, check out The Cottage’s Pick-Your-Own pumpkin patch. There will be more than 10 different food trucks onsite, so come hungry! The Pumpkin and Pickle Fest will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. both days.

Blocktoberfest

You don’t have to travel to Germany to celebrate Oktoberfest! Held in downtown Owensboro on October 21 from noon-6 p.m., Blocktoberfest will feature beer from local and regional breweries, delicious bourbon from our distilleries, food trucks , vendors, arts and crafts and live music! You can also taste beers from The Pub on Second, Brew Bridge and Goodwood Owensboro. Enjoy beer steins and try your hand at a stein-holding contest! Food trucks such as J’s Good Grub and Lure Smoke Shack will be onsite providing delicious wings and barbecue. This event is free to the public!
