Go Ahead and Makes Plans for a Magical Autumn in Owensboro

Summer, you had a good run. But on September 21, we’re trading in our frozen lemonades for pumpkin-spiced coffee, because it is officially fall, y’all!

We know it’s just the beginning of the season, but fall is a pretty big deal around here. We’ve got amazing weather, beautiful orchards, the best local coffee shops and breathtaking fall foliage. Now, we’ve got a while before the leaves change colors but, still, we’re gonna go ahead and break down a list of some fall activities and events that you can check out right here in Owensboro!

Girl’s Day Out

This shopping event brings a variety of great vendors to Owensboro. Grab your friends and family and head to the Owensboro Convention Center on October 28 for Girl’s Day Out. You can win door prizes and eat a fantastic lunch at the onsite café while spending the day at our world-class convention center in downtown Owensboro.

Fall Farm Market

The 5th Annual Fall Farm Market at Hayden Farms is the perfect way to celebrate all things fall. There will be tons of vendors available to shop from and you can enjoy a delicious lunch while you’re there too! Stock up on fall décor, enjoy yard games with your family and take a hay ride while you’re at it. Parking is $10 per car and this event will be held on September 30 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Sasquatch Pumpkin Farm

We’ve got a brand new pumpkin farm opening up! Sasquatch Pumpkin Farm is a micro u-pick pumpkin patch located in Philpot. They’ve got over 15 varieties of pumpkins and you can follow them on Facebook to get info about their opening day!

Day at the Garden

Our beautiful Western Kentucky Botanical Garden is hosting the perfect fall event that can be enjoyed by everyone. Free Family Fun Day will include face painting, train rides, balloon twisters, fun crafts and a FREE lunch! This event will be held on September 16 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Trunnell’s Farm Market

It’s sunflower season at Trunnell’s which means they’ve got a ton of events planned for the month of September! Click here to learn more about their Sunflower Experience, Dinner in the Blooms, Sips & Sunflowers and On the Rocks & Rolled.

Oktoberfest

Held at our local brewery, you can enjoy a day of great craft beer at Brew Bridge’s Oktoberfest. They’ll have pretzels, beer cheese and beer specials going all day and night. The specials begin at 11 a.m. and DJ UP Vibe takes the floor at 10 p.m. Oktoberfest will be held on October 7.

Bulls & Ghouls

Head to the Owensboro Sportscenter on October 14 for Bulls & Ghouls, where you’ll get the best of both worlds in one place: Bull riding and Halloween. Tickets start at $30 and the event runs from 6-10 p.m.

Pumpkin and Pickle Fest

Have you ever heard of a festival that celebrates all things pumpkin and pickle at the same time? Welp, if you’re a fan of either/or, you’re gonna wanna head to The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. on October 21 for their Pumpkin and Pickle Festival! Over 80 vendors and 10 food trucks will be onsite selling all the fall decor and homemade goodies you could dream of. And, of course, there will be pumpkins and pickles galore. This event will kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
