Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: July 28-30

Dust Bowl

Owensboro is famous for its annual Dust Bowl Basketball Tournament, and this year’s is extra special because the Dust Bowl is celebrating its 50th Anniversary! Held July 21-29 at Kendall-Perkins Park, this double elimination outdoor tournament features players (both men’s and women’s) from 3rd grade to adulthood. This tournament is about basketball, of course, but it’s also about celebrating one of Owensboro’s longest-running community events. Click here for more information about dates and times.

ACO Cornhole Championships

Some of the best cornhole players in the world are coming to Owensboro for the ACO World Championships Season 18! Held at the Owensboro Convention Center July 25-29, see up to 800 athletes ages 12 to 80 play for the title of best cornhole player across multiple divisions. They’ll even fight for the overall grand championship and the right to call themselves the King or Queen of Cornhole in the United States. Admission is free for spectators and you can even test your doubles skills in the ACO Tailgator Tournaments that are held openly throughout the week.

Ted Nugent

He’s been playing for a long time now, but this is officially Ted Nugent’s last tour, y’all. You can catch the singer at the RiverPark Center on July 30 for Nugent’s “Adios Mofo ‘23” tour for a night of live music you won’t soon forget. Opening for Nugent is Hillbilly Vegas, so this is guaranteed to be a fun combo for the night. And as fans of the legendary singer say, a Ted Nugent show is not just a performance—it’s a fire-breathing celebration! Tickets are $50 and the show starts at 7 p.m.
