If you’re looking for some summer fun for the entire family to enjoy, Owensboro is the place to be!
We’ve put together a list of some of the festivals, concerts, events and experiences that are family-friendly for people of all ages:
Tour a Replica Pinta Ship
Take your family to English Park to see a replica of the Portuguese Caravel used by Columbus and other explorers! Check out this “floating museum” for self-guided educational tours July 7-16 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Tickets are purchased at the ship for $8/adult and $6 for children, while kids four and under get in free.
Peaches at Reid’s Orchard
Head over to historic Reid’s Orchard to snag a whole heaping of fresh, homegrown peaches. Right now, peaches are in season, and Reid’s has them by the basketful. Click here to see more details.
Daviess County Lion’s Club Fair
This fair is full of entertainment, and you can enjoy everything from Monster Truck Shows to carnival rides to live music and pony rides. Click here to check out the full schedule for this event, which will be held at 6191 KY 54 on July 14-22. Admission is $15/adult and $10 for kids 5-12 years old.
First Fridays
Kick back and enjoy some amazing contemporary Christian music at First Fridays, held on the first Friday of each month at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Michael E. Horn Family Outdoor Stage. There will be food trucks and activities for children, so just bring your own chair and enjoy the show! Tasha Layton will perform on August 5.
Owensboro Regional Farmers’ Market Food Festival
Bring your lawn chair and head to 1205 Triplett Street for a night of food trucks, farm-grown produce, and live music by Krown. The event is free and runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 22.
The Sound of Music
Adults and kids alike will enjoy Encore Musical’s The Sound of Music at the RiverPark Center. Tickets are $29.99 and shows will be held July 15, 16, 22 and 23.
ACO World Championships of Cornhole
Take the entire family to see some of the best cornhole players in the country compete for the top spot! This tournament is open to spectators and will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center July 24-29.
Owensboro Air Show
This is a can’t-miss event for people of all ages! The Owensboro Air Show will be held September 15-17 in downtown Owensboro. All eyes will be on the skies over the Ohio River as performers showcase vintage warbirds, aerobatic demonstrations and military jets, including the USAF Thunderbirds!
