Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: June 9-11

Strawberry Festival

The 2nd Annual Strawberry Festival is back this summer, and it’s going to be even bigger and better than before! Held on June 10 and 11 at The Cottage Farmstand & Baking Co., this festival will feature over 115 different vendors selling everything from homemade jewelry to amazing artwork to home decor. And you can taste ALL the strawberry-flavored treats and pick up some fresh, homegrown strawberries while you’re there! The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. 4 p.m. on Sunday.

PorchFest

It’s time to get ready for one of Owensboro’s coolest music events of the year! PorchFest 2023 will be held along our famous Griffith Avenue corridor on June 10, featuring dozens of talented artists who will be playing on the front porches, or “stages,” of some of the most beautiful homes in Owensboro. A variety of genres, including rock, jazz, soul, folk and bluegrass, will be played throughout the day. Food trucks will be offering delicious food and drinks, so come hungry! Music will be played from 3-10 p.m. and the event is free to the public!

Nicky Hayden Ride

We are celebrating one of our hometown heroes in a big way this year. Nicky Hayden Day will feature a Memorial Ride honoring the world-famous “Kentucky Kid” on June 9. Riders can gather at the Nicky Hayden Statue in front of the Owensboro Convention Center as early as 4:30 p.m. and the ride will begin at 6:09. The ride will stop halfway at Nicky’s final resting place before returning to his statue and celebrating his life at Lure Seafood and Grille. This is an amazing chance to raise money for the Nicky Hayden Foundation, honor Nicky’s life and spend time with loved ones and fans of the racer.
