Bluegrass fans, you’re not gonna want to miss this one! Grammy-winning musician Alison Brown is hitting the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum on May 6 for a night from one of the most forward-thinking banjo players in the industry. Brown blends bluegrass music with jazz for a sound that’s earned praise from the likes of The Wall Street Journal, NPR and USA Today. Her newest album includes special guests such as Steve Martin, Kronos Quartet, Sierra Hull and Stuart Duncan. Tickets are $22 and the show starts at 7 p.m.
Brasher’s Derby Party
You need a place to celebrate the Kentucky Derby? We’ve got you covered. Brasher’s Little Nashville is hosting a Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 6, so you can drink all the Mint Juleps you want while watching the race live from the bar. A number of drink specials will be available and live music will be played by Matt Morris at 6 p.m. followed by Whiskey Row at 9:30 p.m. Brasher’s will open at noon that day so you can get an early start!
American Junior Golf
Visit Owensboro is hosting the Ninja Junior All-Star Series Golf Tournament this weekend at the Owensboro Country Club! Held May 4-7, this golf tournament will feature over 90 golfers in both boys and girls divisions (ages 12-15). This 54-hole format will showcase some of the best young golfers in the Midwest, so be sure to swing by and check it out!
