At the westernmost point on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail is Green River Distilling Co., and it is a trip that’s well worth your while. Green River is one of the oldest and most historic distilleries in the state of Kentucky, providing some of the best bourbon you’ll find anywhere in the world. Bourbon enthusiasts have even compared Green River’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey to the likes of Woodford Reserve and other top-notch bourbons. You can tour the facility and learn all the ins and outs of bourbon production Monday-Saturday at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. You’ll get to taste three different bourbons as well, and all for only $20/person.
