It’s almost that time, folks! ROMP – Owensboro’s biggest Bluegrass music festival of the year – is just days away, and we have some extra special surprises in store for this year’s event.
If you’re ready for an amazingly unique (and thrilling!) experience at this year’s ROMP (and who isn’t?) Don Moore Automotive is giving festival-goers the chance to ride in a hot air balloon! You can get the coolest views at the park by floating in a hot air balloon over the ROMP stage for half an hour. These hot air balloons will provide camera-ready backdrops for the festival throughout the day. And at night, they will LIGHT UP against the night sky for the coolest balloon glow show you’ve ever seen!
Officials have also dropped the first look for this year’s ROMP festival t-shirt. This gray-blue shirt featuring the ROMP owl looks super cool, and there will be tons of other apparel available at the ROMP tent once you arrive, so be sure to bring your wallet! And FYI, you can pay via card, cash or Apple Pay at the ROMP tent.
As if we haven’t bragged about this year’s ROMP lineup enough, we want to again remind everyone that you may not find a better Bluegrass music lineup anywhere else in the world than right here.
Thursday’s headliners include Punch Brothers, Leftover Salmon and Dan Tyminski Band. Friday’s headliners will include The Del McCoury Band, Rhiannon Giddens, We Banjo 3 and Cole Chaney & Wolfpen Branch. Saturday will finish up with headliners Marty Stuart And His Fabulous Superlatives, Tommy Emmanuel, Steep Canyon Rangers and The Steeldrivers.
Newcomers to this year’s ROMP include Lindsay Lou, The Quebe Sisters, Hackensaw Boys, Dark Moon Hollow, Theo & Brenna Band and Brennen Leigh. So you’ll have the chance to hear lots of new artists!
ROMP runs June 22-25 at Yellow Creek Park. Purchase tickets right here!
