It’s almost time for the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden’s award-winning, flower-filled festival! June 19 through June 26, view thousands of blooming daylilies and celebrate the summer with Owensboro’s annual daylily festival.
Saturday, June 19 kicks off the celebration with the Owensboro Art Guild Plein Air event featuring artists painting live throughout the garden beginning at 7 a.m. Start the day off strong with Yoga in the Garden at 8 a.m. before the rest of the festivities. At 6 p.m., the festival comes to life with lots of activities for children, a food truck, a jazz trio from the Owensboro Symphony, magic shows, and an epic sound and light show featuring Prof G Entertainment.
Other fun events to explore throughout the week include rock painting on Monday, June 21, “Lunch, Listen, Learn” with guest speaker Dr. Bill Tyler on Tuesday, June 22, and Kids Hike in the Garden on Wednesday, June 23, and Dog Dayz on Friday, June 25.
On June 24, enjoy an evening amongst the daylilies at The Garden After Dark from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fat Box performs live with an exciting blend of rock, funk, blues, and jazz. A food truck will be on site, so come hungry! Admission to this event is just $10 and includes two complimentary drink tickets!
