The ‘Hit King’ Pete Rose coming to Owensboro Sept. 15

Pete Rose At a press conference earlier today, tourism officials announced that Legendary baseball great Pete Rose will visit Owensboro on Friday, Sept. 15 for a presentation of “4192 An Evening with Pete Rose.”

The show will begin at 8 p.m. in RiverPark Center’s Cannon Hall and typically lasts 90 minutes. The show’s sponsors and VIP ticket holders will be invited to a meet and greet cocktail hour with Pete Rose from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. There are a limited number of VIP tickets.

According to JT Stewart, the show’s producer, “4192 An Evening with Pete Rose” is a theatrical event and will remind fans of a professional baseball game – complete with the singing of the National Anthem and the ceremonial throwing of the first pitch.

“The performance is unscripted and no two are ever the same,” he added. “Pete will tell a lot of stories about his career and we usually have time for a few questions from the audience.” The performance is based on the documentary “4192 The Making of a Hit King.”

“This is one example of how our community is growing in the area of sports tourism,” said Jared Bratcher, Sports Director for Visit Owensboro. “This time we are offering a sports event specifically for the fans, rather than for the players.”

Tickets for “4192 An Evening with Pete Rose” go on sale Friday, July 28 at 8 a.m. at owensborotickets.com or through the RiverPark Center box office. VIP tickets (rows 1-6 of the orchestra section) are $100, the remaining orchestra and mezzanine seats are $35 and grand and upper tier seats are $25.
