Bar-B-Q Festival The Bar-B-Q Festival brings thousands to downtown Owensboro for a weekend of music, crafts and Bar-B-Q! Always the second weekend in June.
Friday After 5 Friday After 5 offers free music on the downtown riverfront every Friday night from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The main stages are RiverPark Center Patio on the east end of Smothers Park and The Pier on the west end. Music is also offered on the Smothers Park Overlook, the RiverPark Center Courtyard and sometimes inside RiverPark Center’s Cannon Hall

Owensboro Christmas Parade Second Street in downtown Owensboro becomes Holiday Central for the Owensboro Christmas Parade, the largest Christmas parade in the Tri-State Area.
Fountains at Sunset Owensboro’s Riverfront features Smothers Park and is the home of the Shelton Memorial Park, honoring POW/MIA’s from all wars. It features synchronized fountains, an outdoor children’s spray park and playground includes handicap-accessible, overhead ramps inside large artificial trees. The park spans five city blocks and covers over five acres of land. It also offers outdoor space for events, with concessions and restroom facilities.
Owensboro Museum of Fine Art The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art offers traveling exhibits, plus selections from their permanent collection year-round. In addition, the Holiday Forest in December has become a popular holiday tradition.
Western Kentucky Botanical Garden The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden has beauty to offer all year round. WKBG has seven established gardens – Butterfly, Rose, Daylily, Iris, Herb, Fruit & Berry, and the Takahashi Japanese Memorial Garden. The Garden offers many special programs throughout the year, including many children’s activities in their Playhouse.
