Voices of Elmwood 2015
The Owensboro Museum of Science and History, in collaboration with the Daviess County Library and Theatre Workshop of Owensboro, is pleased to announce this year’s performance dates and historic people that will be portrayed.
Performances will be held on September 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 and October 1, 2, 3 beginning at 6:00 p.m. each evening. Both wagon tours and tent shows will be offered and a full listing of dates and times can be found on the museum’ website’s EVENTS page or on the museum’s FACEBOOK page, listed as “Owensboro Museum of Science and History.” In honor of Daviess County’s Bicentennial, the people portrayed, such as Joseph Hamilton Daveiss, may not be buried at Elmwood Cemetery. The historic stories told will feature: Edward Claybrook, Phillip Dahl and George Groezinger, Joseph Hamilton Daveiss, Harry Green, Judith Jackson, James Jones, Mount St. Joseph Founding Nuns, Mush Morton, Mary Oberst, and Allen Reid.
Tickets go on sale on August 11 and can be purchased at the Owensboro Museum of Science and History or by calling 270.687.2732. Group sales of ten or more tickets will receive a 10% discount. Voices of Elmwood 2015 is directed by Todd Reynolds and over seventy-five community volunteers assist in the annual production. The host, Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery, is located at 1300 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, Kentucky, 42303 and parking is available on site. All tickets are non-refundable. In case of lightning storms or heavy rain, performances will be cancelled. Any patrons holding tickets to a cancelled event may select to see the performances at one of the tent shows offered on October 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
