It’s getting closer and closer to the opening weekend of one of the most anticipated exhibits to ever grace the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Jerry Garcia: A Bluegrass Journey is launching in March with a weekend-long celebration honoring the life and legacy of Garcia and his Bluegrass music roots.
Held March 28-30, this exhibition will launch with an immersive experience of exhibition tours, live music, historic panel discussions and more to celebrate the bluegrass career of this music icon.
The exhibition itself explores Garcia’s early years as a banjo player, his deep connection to bluegrass and the influence it had on his massive career. The Jerry Garcia exhibit will last two years, but this opening weekend celebration is where true, blue Garcia fans will get the most out of this experience.
You’ll get all the live music you could dream of at this opening weekend. Three days of concerts–including the Sam Grisman Project and Leftover Salmon–can be enjoyed, along with special appearances by Peter Rowan, David Nelson, Jim Lauderdale, Ronnie McCoury, Eric Thompson, Pete Wernick and Kyle Tuttle.
You’ll also get to view some amazing documentary screenings, such as Grateful Dawg, Long Strange Trip and Festival Express.
And if you were hoping to hear exclusive, personal stories from the artists who played with and knew Garcia. These in-person panel discussions are a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those who’ve been fans of Garcia’s music and influence over the last several decades.
