Owensboro to Host Prelims for Major Talent Competition

Owensboro is about to host a super cool talent competition that could lead to a lucky singer/songwriter getting the chance to score a major music deal and a chance to perform at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville!

Held by the Inspirational Country Music Association, four different cities will hold preliminary talent competitions as part of the Nashville Talent Showcase. The cities include Fort Worth, Texas; Vicksburg, Mississippi; Jennings, Louisiana; and Owensboro, Kentucky.

Winners from each preliminary competition will be asked to perform in the finale during the Inspirational Country Music Association Awards pre-show. This platform will showcase your talent to a variety of top-notch artists, radio influences and some of Nashville’s elite power players!

Each contestant will send a video submission to some of Nashville’s top industry professionals to be critiqued. During the preliminary competitions, contestants will have five minutes to sing their heart out for the chance to move forward. Each state will select two competitors to move to the next round.

There are some top-notch prizes for first, second and third place winners, so this is not a competition to be taken lightly! You’ll have the chance to score song-writing sessions with some of Nashville’s best songwriters, along an EP recording of your music and radio releases!

Owensboro’s preliminary event will be held on the ICMA stage at McConnell Plaza on June 16, so be sure to check it out while you’re here! And if you’re interested in competing, click here for a complete list of rules, guidelines and information.
