BBQ and Barrels Bridging Two Owensboro Staples for One Fun Weekend

A longtime Owensboro tradition will be revitalized this year with BBQ and Barrels – a new take on two of our city’s greatest culinary staples: Unique barbecue and historic bourbon.

BBQ and Barrels will be held for two days this year on May 12 and 13 in downtown Owensboro.

While those who love the International Bar-B-Q Festival will still be able to score their favorite items from local restaurants and cooking teams, the addition to this event will be in the form of a ticketed bourbon element at the Owensboro Convention Center. Already, 35 different distilleries have signed up. Bourbon classes and a sit-down dinner will be offered at Green River Distilling Co. as well.

And that’s not all! BBQ and Barrels will also feature a carnival for kids, a 5K event, and a number of craft vendors to shop from.

Things will kick off on Friday, May 12 at noon with barbecue from local church cooking teams and food vendors, carnival rides and live music. You can see the full music lineup right here!

The fun continues on Saturday with a BBQ 5K, Backyard BBQ Cook-off and bourbon-tasting events inside the Owensboro Convention Center.

You can purchase tickets for the bourbon-tasting portion of the event right here! General Admission tickets are still available.
