Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: December 23-25

Winter Break Blast

The Owensboro Museum of Science and History is hosting a weeklong event for all the kiddos who want something fun and educational to do while school’s out! OMSH’s “Winter Break Blast” will be held December 20-23 featuring different events each day. Head downtown to see the museum’s Live Animal Experience from 10:30 a.m.-noon, where you can get your photo taken with baby lambs, calfs, bunnies and goats! And on December 21, the OMSH will host storyteller Susan Fowler for “The Night Before Christmas” (11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.) and “Winter Adventures with Lewis and Clark” (12-2 p.m.) programs. Admission is $5 for non-members and free for members!

Christmas at Panther Creek

It’s a magical, memorable experience for the whole family when you attend Christmas at Panther Creek! This outdoor, lighted driving tour features more than 500,000 lights that you can enjoy from the warmth of your vehicle. See lights and displays in every color, shape and size through January 2 from 6-9 p.m. each night. And to make the experience even better, the proceeds collected from admission ($5/vehicle) goes directly to five nonprofits across Daviess County.

Holiday in the Park

If you’re more of a city dweller, you can still see all the lights your heart desires, right in the heart of Owensboro. Held at Legion Park, Holiday in the Park is a family-friendly tradition that’s been held for years, and it continues to get better each holiday season! Take your friends, family, pets or just yourself for a walk around this beautifully-lit park as you enjoy dancing light displays, Santa’s sleigh and great holiday backdrops around every corner. This event is free to the public each night through January 1.
