Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: December 2-4

The Nutcracker

If you want to spend the weekend enjoying the arts AND Christmas, there’s no better show to see than The German American Bank Nutcracker, held for two days at RiverPark Center on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. This stage production is loosely adapted from E.T.A. Hoffman’s original story when, on Christmas Eve, Marie falls asleep after a party at her house and dreams herself into a fantastic world where toys become larger than life. Owensboro Dance Theater always puts on an amazing show, and tickets are only $17!

Dancing Lights in Downtown Owensboro

Head to downtown Owensboro for your own Hallmark Christmas movie! Every night from 5-9 p.m., downtown will become aglow with tons of dancing lights that spectacularly light up the whole area! The lights will change colors every 15 minutes along with each Christmas song that plays. These lights will be strung all across downtown,  including a giant Christmas tree right in the middle of Smothers Park! You won’t want to miss this riverfront holiday experience as part of Owensboro’s 2022 Hometown Christmas, and it’s free to the public through Dec. 31.

SIP Owensboro

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and SIP Owensboro gives you just that in the form of amazing wine and spirits! You’ll be hard-pressed to find a cooler wine shop anywhere, and this riverfront location offers beautiful views along with a delicious assortment of wine – straight from a cooling wine station! You can also enjoy charcuterie boards, mixed drinks and a variety of beer at SIP.
