Owensboro to Host Kentucky Thespian Festival

Hundreds of thespians from across the state will make their way to Owensboro this fall for the Kentucky Thespian Festival. Held at Apollo High School and RiverPark Center November 10-12, this event celebrates all things related to the theater.

Kentucky Thespians is affiliated with the International Thespian Society and offers a wide range of opportunities for students, educators and artists. Participants will spend three days at the festival, which also showcases student recognition along with professional development, performance opportunities and community building resources.

This year’s festival is titled “Theatre Through the Decades.” Thespians will spend the entire day participating in workshops, technical challenges, All-State show auditions, and watching multiple shows throughout the day.

Past participants from all over Kentucky have applauded the festival for bringing hundreds of people together with the same interests.

Aside from getting the chance to perform and learn the technical ins and outs of theater production, the Kentucky Thespian Festival helps students choose colleges that will benefit them, select audition pieces and learn what it takes to do behind-the-scenes work, like production.

Visit Owensboro is proud to welcome the Kentucky Thespians to our community, and we can’t wait to show them everything our city has to offer.
