Kick Off the Fall Season at Owensboro’s Amazing Orchards

Whether you’re on the hunt for decorative pumpkins, in desperate need of an apple cider, or itching to take the family on a hayride, our local orchards have everything you’re looking for during this beautiful Fall season.

Trunnell’s Farm Market is famous for its sunflower fields, where you can enjoy over a million different blooms and more than 65 varieties! From September 3-30, you can head out to Trunnell’s for its Sunflower Experience. Explore the sunflowers, take tons of pics, and enjoy over 30 different attractions that make this family-run farm such an amazing place to play, eat and shop.

As part of the Sunflower Experience, Trunnell’s will host several special events throughout the month of September, including Dinner in the Blooms (Sept. 3 and 10), Sips-n-Sunflowers (Sept. 9, 16 and 17) and the Sunflower Music Fest (Sept. 23 and 24).

And if you’re planning an October trip to Owensboro, you can’t miss one of the most looked-forward-to events of the year: Reid’s Orchard Orchard Apple Festival!

Held for two days on October 22 and 23, the Apple Fest brings thousands of people to Daviess County each for some of the best food, shopping, carnival rides and apple cider slushies in the Tri-State.

But even if you can’t make it to the Apple Fest,  you can enjoy Reid’s ANY time during the Fall season! They have everything from apple and pumpkin picking to hayrides to petting zoos, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better place to shop for seasonal mums, as they offer varieties in every shape, size and color.

Trunnell’s is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m and Sundays from noon-5 p.m., while Reid’s Orchard is open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
