Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: July 15-17

Supporting Heroes Tribute Gala

This is a night dedicated entirely to celebrating the heroes in our lives. Whether you work in public safety, are the survivor of a fallen hero, or simply appreciate the service and sacrifice made by heroes on a daily basis, this is the perfect event for you to show your support. Held at the Owensboro Convention Center on July 16 at 6 p.m., doors will open and seating begins at 5:20 p.m. Seats can be purchased right here for $60 each. There is never a cost to immediate survivors of fallen heroes.

Friday After 5

Owensboro’s summer music series is supporting heroes as well this weekend. On Friday, July 15, you can head to the downtown riverfront to celebrate first responders from 5:30-11:30 p.m. A live music performance by The Consoulers will be held from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Jagoe Homes Riverfront stage, while No Governor will perform from 7-9 p.m. at the ROMAIN SUBARU Overlook Stage. You can also enjoy food trucks, the second round of WBKR Fight Night auditions and even more live music from Tyrone Dunn & Kinfoke at the Ruoff Party Stage from 8:30-11:30 p.m.

Games on the River

Sunday is a great day for families and friends, and there’s no better way to spend time together than with a game night. But this is no ordinary set of checkers we’re talking about. Games on the River brings you a variety of FREE giant games the whole family can enjoy! From checkers to Connect Four to Jenga, you can play these larger-than-life games at Smothers Park from noon-8 p.m. on July 17.
