Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: June 17-19

Dazzling Daylilies Festival

This five-day festival celebrates one of the prettiest flowers in Kentucky with live music, family fun and, best of all, the chance to take home your own daylilies from Western Kentucky Botanical Garden. Running June 13-18 this year, the Dazzling Daylilies Festival will feature a Lunch, Listen, Learn event on the 14th, where you can learn all about daylilies from an expert. Bourbon Revival will perform live Bluegrass music on June 16, complete with a cash bar for food and drinks, while a Family Fun Day will be held at the garden on June 18, bringing you a petting zoo, food trucks, a magician, face painting and a kid’s hike.

Live on the Banks

This free outdoor concert series will bring you live music from the banks of the Ohio River on Saturday night at two different locations. You can enjoy drinks, food and the sounds of great music at the Overlook Stage, where singer-songwriter Carly Moffa (of American Idol fame) will perform alongside Rockturnal Emissions at the Allen Street Gazebo. Both performances will be held on June 18 from 7-9 p.m. and are free to the public.

Games on the River

If you’re looking for the perfect family-friendly outing this weekend, Games on the River is definitely the place to be! From noon-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, you can enjoy free GIANT games of checkers, Jenga, Connect 4 and more. Held at Smothers Park on the beautiful Ohio RIver each weekend through September 4, Games on the River is hosted by Owensboro Parks & Recreation.
