Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: June 10-12

Strawberry Festival

This is a festival for all the strawberry connoisseurs out there! Held at the Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. on June 11 and 12, Owensboro’s first-ever Strawberry Festival has already gotten the attention of thousands of people and is guaranteed to be a huge hit. Celebrate the great outdoors and strawberry-flavored everything from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at one of the prettiest places in west Daviess County at this two-day event. We’re talking strawberry shortcakes, ice creams, smoothies, lattes, muffins, cheesecakes, preserves, salsas and, of course, good ole’ fashion homegrown strawberries. There will be activities for the kiddos and live music as well!

Nicky Hayden Day at FA5

Friday After 5 is dedicating an entire night to commemorating the life of one of Owensboro’s hometown heroes. Nicky Hayden, “The Kentucky Kid,” will be honored with a night celebrating all the things Nicky loved – kids, giving to others and bikes. You can donate to the Nicky Hayden Foundation and enjoy live music from bands Fat Box and Insulated, as well as Karaoke Night at VFW Post 696. Friday After 5 will run from 5 p.m.-midnight on June 10.

PorchFest

This annual outdoor music festival is incredibly unique, bringing you a day and night of free live entertainment from the front porches of some of the most beautiful homes in Owensboro! Spend the day listening to the music from over 40 different bands, enjoying refreshments from a variety of food trucks, and walking along Owensboro’s famous Griffith Avenue corridor. PorchFest will be held on June 11 from 3 p.m.-11 p.m. This family-friendly event will showcase the best musicians in the tri-state, so be sure to move around and take it all in!
