Visit Owensboro bringing back Mocktail/Cocktail Crawl

What better way to celebrate the start of summer than with a delicious cocktail? Whether it’s a frozen margarita or a non-alcoholic strawberry daquiri, there’s something magical about sipping a fruity drink on ice under the warm sunshine.

Bringing back a fan favorite, The District Mocktail/Cocktail Crawl will run for two weeks from May 13-27. It will kick off on the first day of the downtown Bar-B-Q Block Party (May 13-14) and continue through the first two Friday After 5 events of the season (May 20 and 27) and Downtown Live.

Several bars and restaurants located within downtown Owensboro’s entertainment area – dubbed “The District” — will offer featured specialty cocktails and mocktails at prices ranging from $2.50-$10.

Be sure to check out Visit Owensboro’s social media channels on Monday, May 9, where you can find a Drinks Guide and a list of bars/restaurants participating. You can also check out a list of kid-friendly bars, hours of operation for each place, and the cost of each drink.

SIP Owensboro General Manager Regan Neal said her team was exciting to participate in this year’s Mocktail/Cocktail Crawl with Visit Owensboro.

“Through this, we are able to cater to those who want a drink, and also to those just wanting something refreshing to sip on while enjoying downtown,” Neal said.

Friday After 5 Director Francine Marseille echoed that statement, saying she couldn’t wait to see the community come together for the event.

“Starting the crawl with the Bar-B-Q Block Party, and then keeping the community engaged and involved in our downtown – it’s perfect timing to roll right into Friday After 5’s 26th anniversary celebration,” she said.

Visit Owensboro’s Dave Kirk said The District Mocktail/Cocktail Crawl will offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at each location so that everyone can participate.

You don’t have to drink to have fun, which is why Visit Owensboro wants to make it clear that you don’t have to drink alcohol to participate in the Mocktail/Cocktail Crawl. And if you do choose to drink alcohol, we ask that you drink responsibly and have a designated driver at the ready.

With the event running for two weeks, there will be plenty of time to try all the different drinks, so don’t forget to space them out!
