Top 3 Things to Do in Owensboro This Weekend: May 27-29

Memorial Day Rodeo and Terry Lee Ridley  

Diamond Lake Resort will be celebrating Memorial Day weekend with a bang this year. On May 26, head to the beautiful outdoors for a touching flag-raising ceremony in front of the Pit Stop Grill at 11 a.m. before heading to the campground’s Golf Cart Rodeo in the afternoon. You can bring a golf cart of your own or rent one onsite! On May 28, you can catch Terry Lee Ridley & Million Dollar Band from 7:30-10:30 p.m. for a night of live music and fun entertainment. Campers can watch the show for $10 and the general public can see the band perform for $15 apiece. 

Downtown Live      

The RiverPark Center is hosting Downtown Live this weekend from 6-11 p.m., bringing you all kinds of exciting entertainment for the adults to enjoy. This weekend’s theme is “Race Into Summer,” and RPC is celebrating all the local educators out there! If you have a school ID, definitely bring it with you, because you can get a drink discount at the bar. You can also enjoy a selfie station in the lobby, the Community Jukebox at Truist Plaza, live music at the Atmos Courtyard from 6-8 p.m. and even a Drunk Spelling Bee at the GhostLight Lounge from 8 p.m.-midnight. Outdoors, RPC will be holding the Owensboro 500 Tricycle Race, where teams can win all kinds of awards for competing. 

Live on the Banks    

Owensboro is all about live music, and you can catch two performances this Saturday night at Live on the Banks! Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the downtown riverfront as you listen to the 101st Airborne Rock Band at the Overlook Stage, then swing over to the Allen Street Gazebo to hear Madeline Wilkerson perform. Both performances are free to the public and will be held from 7-9 p.m. at Smothers Park.
