If you’ve never attended PorchFest in Owensboro, this is the perfect year to check it out, because PorchFest 2022 is going to be one to remember.
This annual outdoor music festival is incredibly unique, bringing you a day and night of live music played from the front porches of houses in one of Owensboro’s most beautiful neighborhoods.
Officials with PorchFest have managed to score 40 different musicians and bands to perform for a full day of FREE entertainment for the 2022 event, which will be held on June 11.
After months of planning, prepping and auditions, the official lineup is out, ya’ll!
But first off, we want to give PorchFest’s title sponsor Independence Bank a lot of credit for helping to make this happen. Without the support of Independence Bank and the numerous other sponsors that contribute to this event each year, we might not have such a cool outdoor music festival to call our own, right here in Owensboro.
At PorchFest, the front porches are the stages, and officials have scheduled each stage to include live shows from three different performers throughout the day. The earliest performances will start at 3 p.m. with the latest ones kicking off at 9 p.m.
There will be food and drink trucks spread across the PorchFest area throughout the day, so you’ll have plenty of chances to refresh and rehydrate.
Each year, PorchFest OBKY dedicates its t-shirt sales to a select charity, and this year’s charitable beneficiary is The Taylor Widmer Memorial Fund. It was created and funded by friends and family to help the Widmer family heal in the aftermath of their son Taylor’s untimely death. Over the last eight years, the Widmer family has used the memorial funds as a means of giving back to their community and keeping the story and memory of Taylor alive.
